There are so many outstanding games to choose from this year that you might not even know where to start. However, several titles stand out from the crowd that you should get your hands on that comprise our list of the best PC games to play this Fall.
There are many vintage options, action and adventure, first-person shooters, and everything in between to choose from. Here are the best PC games to play this Fall.
One of the more unique games released this year is Deathloop. You take on the role of Colt, who is an assassin stuck in a time loop. Your mission is to seek out and kill 8 Visionaries across the island before the clock strikes midnight.
What makes the game interesting is that you can’t kill each of them individually. Your exploration will allow you to find out where each of them is at any given time, and then you can kill them all in one day. This game has a great story, unique and exciting mechanics and will have you on the edge of your seat from the moment you start playing.
Resident Evil Village
The eighth installment in the legendary Resident Evil franchise, Village is the sequel to 2017’s Biohazard. You control Ethan Winters as he searches for his kidnapped daughter after a fatal encounter with Chris Redfield.
Retaining the first-person perspective we have come to expect from the series, the game is more action-focused. The setting is also incredibly creepy yet beautiful, as it resembles the Victorian era in Eastern Europe. Village is engaging, scary, and worthy of the franchise it is a part of making it one of the best PC games.
Control GameControl Game
Control centers around the Federal Bureau of Control, a secret branch of the US Government, which examines and contains all phenomena against reality’s rules and laws.
Control is a unique twist on a genre that is already so popular and entertaining. Your objective is to defeat a paranormal entity known as the Hiss, which has evaded capture and is destroying reality as you know it. You can also collect mundane objects which all hold special powers from different periods and dimensions.
Released at the backend of 2020, Shadowlands is the eighth expansion in World of Warcraft, and it opens up the area called the Shadowlands, or the land of the dead in Warcraft. The expansion also added some new features and adjustments.
Shadowlands also introduced a level squish, as well as overhauling the leveling system entirely. The Death Knight class is an addition for races that previously didn’t have access to it, and many new dungeons to explore and raids to take part in were also added.
Humankind coming to Game Pass for PC
Recently released in mid-August, Humankind allows you to control a civilization as they grow, expand and develop across six different significant eras of human society. Fans of Sid Meier’s Civilization will feel right at home playing Humankind.
What sets Humankind apart from other games in this genre is that at the start of each new era, the players can choose one out of ten civilization types based on historical societies, which they will use to further their community. The choice will have benefits and disadvantages, and considering there are so many options to choose from; there will be access to a million different civilization patterns.
Chivalry 2
Chivalry 2 is Call of Duty but in Medieval times. This hack-and-slash game allows players to pick from several weapons such as long swords, hammers, or battle axes. Players must kill opponents, block attacks, and be aware of friendly fire because an ill-timed sword swing can take the head off of a teammate.
You can also play a few different modes, such as team deathmatch, a 64-player objective-based mode, and a free-for-all mode. There is also a unique castle-storming mode where attackers are pitched against defenders in a fight to the death.
Valheim is an open-world sandbox game based on the Vikings. Players are sent to Valheim, a world where Vikings have to prove their worth before making it to Valhalla. You start with nothing, and you have to explore the world, collect objects and materials and defeat enemies to survive.
The world of Valheim is procedurally generated, much like No Man’s Sky, with players exploring several different areas and biomes. You can also play cooperatively with up to nine other players and gain and improve multiple skills from attacking to running.
Flight Simulator Coming to Xbox Game Pass
While Flight Simulator may not sound like the most exciting game, this version is easily the best one yet. The Premium Deluxe edition of the game features a selection of 30 different aircraft to fly and every major airport in the world to land at and take off from.
Flight Simulator has been a quiet hit for decades because you can fly across the world and see every country, mountain, river, volcano, ocean, etc. The graphics are stunning, the flying is super realistic, and the experience is unmatched making it one of the best PC games to play this Fall.
The king of Battle Royales, Warzone has now been played by millions of people since its release. The game’s object is simple: land, gear up, and escape the deadly storm that approaches, all while outliving the 150 other players on the map.
While the game has been out for over a year now, it will be receiving its most significant update to date in the coming months, with a brand new map being introduced. This will coincide with the release of the latest Call of Duty title, Vanguard. Get ready for the best Battle Royale to go to the next level.
